New streetside concept from the Nation’s snack leader to bring Twistz, Dogz and more on Jan. 10
There’s a new twist on Wetzel’s Pretzels – called Twisted by Wetzel’s – and its second Los Angeles-area location is now open in South Gate’s Azalea Shopping Center.
Located at 4757 Firestone Boulevard in South Gate, Calif., the new Twisted by Wetzel’s is in the heart of the Azalea Shopping Center, surrounded by a variety of retailers and restaurants. This location is the third Twisted by Wetzel’s in the U.S. and the second bakery in the greater Los Angeles area. The new Azalea location features a vibrant, immersive, 360-degree experience with a bright, energetic interior that matches the brand’s playful persona.
A grand opening event is scheduled for Wednesday, Jan. 10, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony featuring representatives from the South Gate Chamber of Commerce and a DJ Lechero from REAL 92.3 will be on-site doing a live radio remote to entertain the crowd and giveaway prizes.
Pretzel lovers who follow @twistedbywetzels on social media on the day of the grand opening from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. will score one free signature Twisted Item (limit one per customer). Fans can score a Pizza Bomb Twistz, Bacon Ranch Bitz, Baja Elote Bitz or a Horchata Slushie.
The unique Twisted menu ranges from savory to sweet and everything in between, and includes:
Gourmet Dogz – Twisted’s take on the beloved hot dog, with new flavors such as the Baja Boardwalk (complete with jalapeños and Cilantro Baja sauce) and the Everything Bacon, made with bacon bits and topped off with Twisted Sauce.
Twistz – Twisted’s brainchild, featuring flavors such as the Pizza Bomb and Triple Grilled Cheese.
Sweet Treats – Including S’mores Bitz and the brand-new Chimney Cakes – which are pretzel cones filled with a variety of flavors, such as Cookies & Cream and Rainbow Crunch
Frozen Drinks – Nothing goes better with this delicious menu than something to wash it down. Pretzel fans will love Twisted’s selection of innovative drinks, such as the Slushies, and House Drinks like the Peach Matcha Palmer, as well as other unique sips like the Strawberry Coco Dream.
“It’s not just classic pretzel lovers who are loving our Twisted by Wetzel’s concept,” said Vincent Montanelli, Chief Operating Officer at Wetzel’s Pretzels. “Our guests are really responding to the new, inventive twists and flavors we introduced last year at our La Habra location and now they can enjoy them at our new South Gate bakery!”
