Restaurant industry veterans Jennifer Meltzer and Chef Edward Reavis announce the opening of ALL SET RESTAURANT & BAR, where the welcoming spirit of New England is combined with a modern take on the mid-Atlantic and Northeastern cuisine. Located at the Montgomery Center in downtown Silver Spring, the Restaurant is set to open on Tuesday, April 14th, 2015.
The name of the Restaurant, conceived from a widely-used New England saying, defines the Restaurant’s desired overall guest experience. Restaurant owner Jennifer Meltzer explains: “The phrase ‘All set’ is frequently heard throughout the New England region to indicate one is “good to go” and nothing more is needed. Our goal at All Set is to treat our community and guests to an exceptionally satisfying dining experience which far exceeds our guests’ expectations.”
Putting a contemporary twist on seasonally inspired dishes which reflect Chef-Owner Edward Reavis’ passion for fresh ingredients, nutritious foods and unforgettable flavors, the menu will feature American cuisine inspired by the traditions of coastal New England. Notable menu items include Crispy Skin Rockfish, Crab Cakes, Fried Oyster Burger, Butternut Squash Risotto and Braised Short Ribs. Raw Bar selections include a variety of seasonal Oysters, Littleneck Clams, Chilled Shrimp, Lobster, and Crab. A Family Clam Bake and Fried Chicken dinner will also be offered on Sunday nights. Hailing from the small town of Emporia, Virginia, Edward Reavis began his culinary journey at the age of 15 washing dishes. At that time he did not know that food would become his main passion. Later, while pursuing a degree in Physical Education at Virginia State University, Reavis realized how important nutrition is for a healthy lifestyle but more than that, he found that he loved to cook and create dishes to impress his friends and family. That love took him to Baltimore International Culinary School where he was able to study professional cooking while working at Morton’s Steakhouse and Gaylord National. Reavis left Gaylord National to join the opening team at the Capital Grille Chevy Chase, MD where he met Jennifer Meltzer. In 2012, Edward received his Professional Chef Certification from the Culinary Institute of America in Hype Park, NY. He has worked at several DC-area favorites such as Tico DC, The Front Page, District Commons and Burger Tap and Shake. Most recently, Edward worked as sous chef at Cru Oyster Bar – named “Best New Restaurant” by Boston Magazine – in Nantucket, MA. With All Set, Chef Edward Reavis looks forward to using traditional culinary practices and incorporating new techniques he has learned through his travels.
