The Bojangles’ Southern 500 Pace Car is hitting the road and bringing the excitement of NASCAR to five South Carolina cities in celebration of Bojangles’ inaugural year sponsoring the Sprint Cup Series race at Darlington Raceway on May 12.
Race fans will have an opportunity to sign their name on the official Bojangles’ Southern 500 Pace Car, a Toyota Camry, that will parade around the track on race day and to win Bojangles’ racing-themed prizes during the pit stops. Each hour at all five events, a drawing will be held to give away two tickets to the Bojangles’ Southern 500, and everyone who enters will have a chance to win the grand prize: a VIP weekend for two to enjoy all the racing action at Darlington.
Highlighting the Bojangles’ Southern 500 Pace Car Tour will be an appearance by Denny Hamlin, driver of the #11 FedEx Toyota, at the April 25 tour stop in Darlington. Denny will pose for pace car photos with fans.
The Bojangles’ Southern 500 Pace Car will be burning rubber as it makes stops at the following Bojangles’ restaurants across the Palmetto State:
- Greenville on Saturday, April 21, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at 3645 Pelham Road
- Darlington on Wednesday, April 25, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., at 1524 South Main St.
- Charleston on Saturday, April 28, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at 2508 Ashley Phosphate Road
- Columbia on Sunday, April 29, from 1 to 5 p.m., at 2800 Clemson Road
- Myrtle Beach on Saturday, May 5, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at 10594 North Kings Highway
“Sending the official pace car on a tour of South Carolina is a way for us to bring the Bojangles’ Southern 500 to race fans across the state. Even if they can’t make it to the raceway on May 12, they can take a lap around the track by signing the official pace car,” said Bojangles’ Senior Vice President of Marketing Randy Poindexter. “We’re excited to be the sponsor of NASCAR’s only Sprint Cup Series race in South Carolina, and we can’t imagine a better way to share our excitement with Bojangles’ loyal customers.”
The grand prize Bojangles’ Southern 500 VIP package that tour stop attendees can register for is a race fan’s wildest dream come true: two tickets to the VFW NASCAR Nationwide Series VFW Sport Clips Help A Hero 200 on Friday, May 11; two tickets to the Bojangles’ Southern 500 on Saturday, May 12; waving the green flag during a Bojangles’ Southern 500 qualifying lap on Friday; a Pace Car ride on the track prior to Saturday’s Sprint Cup Series race; two nights in an area hotel; and $500 in Bojangles’ gift cards.
