Buffalo Wings & Rings Launches Third Annual "Chip in for the Cause" Campaign

Elevated Sports Restaurant to Offer Special Menu October 1 Until November 11 to Raise Money to Benefit Breast Cancer Awareness and Research During Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Buffalo Wings & Rings Launches Third Annual "Chip in for the Cause" CampaignFor the third year in a row, Cincinnati-based elevated sports restaurant franchise Buffalo Wings & Rings is chipping in to help find a cure and raise awareness during Breast Cancer Awareness Month with its Chip in for the Cause campaign. A limited time menu will be available at the company’s participating locations beginning Monday, October 1 through Sunday, November 11. The menu features Sam Adams Beer Cheese served with pink tortilla chips and for every purchase of the beer cheese, $1.00 will be donated to breast cancer awareness and research.

“Since the beginning, it’s been our mission to find ways to make a positive impact in the communities and neighborhoods that our Buffalo Wings & Rings restaurants serve. Chip in for the Cause is another important way we are furthering that mission,” said Nader Masadeh, President and CEO of Buffalo Wings & Rings. “We hope our valued guests will join us in chipping in to aid in the fight against breast cancer this fall.”

This year, the company has also partnered with a breast cancer survivor to design the campaign’s t-shirts, which will be available at participating Buffalo Wings & Rings restaurants for $10.00 with all proceeds benefitting the cause.

Cincinnati resident Julie Jones was diagnosed with breast cancer in October 2017 after a routine mammogram found evidence of a tumor. After diagnosis, doctors removed the tumor but discovered it was twice the expected size and classified the cancer as Stage 2. Engaged, with a wedding scheduled for the following summer, Julie opted to undergo both chemotherapy and radiation to have the strongest chance of keeping the cancer from coming back. Her treatment concluded just one month before she was married last June.

Julie’s t-shirt design features the dual slogan “Save Breasts” and “Eat Wings” in alternating white and pink lettering. She feels lucky to have caught the cancer through a mammogram and hopes her story and participation in the campaign will encourage others to get checked and help in the fight against breast cancer.

“If one person reads my story or is somehow inspired to get a mammogram or buys a t-shirt to help donate to the cause, it’s worth it. I had no family history or anything that would lead me to believe that I’d be in this position. If we can touch and help even just one person, then it’s all worthwhile. That’s really what I hope that this campaign will do. The potential to help save one person is so important,” said Jones.

Any guest who purchases one of Julie’s designed t-shirts during the Chip in for the Cause campaign will receive a thank you note from her for participating in the campaign. Any guest who purchases a t-shirt and/or the Sam Adams Beer Cheese will also receive a participation slip that will hang in their local restaurant, highlighting who or what inspired them to show their support.

Additional items on the Chip in for the Cause menu include:

  • Cantina Chicken Bowl – Spicy fried chicken, topped with queso blanco, melted Cheddar Jack, fresh jalapeños, red onions, tomatoes, crumbled tortilla, and smoked ancho chile powder.
  • Buffalo Chicken Mac n Cheese Bowl – Cavatappi noodles tossed in a creamy blend of queso blanco, Cheddar Jack and smoked Gouda. Topped with buffalo chicken, crumbled bacon, bleu cheese crumbles and minced scallions.
  • Ranchero Tots – Oversized bacon and cheese stuffed tater tots. Topped with fresh jalapeños, cilantro and chipotle ranch.
  • Southwest Cheesy Bread – Creamy Mexican Panela cheese, charred and served over toasted garlic bread, served with chipotle lime sauce, cilantro and avocado.

Individual Buffalo Wings & Rings locations will further donate their time and effort to the cause through participation in local breast cancer awareness walks, runs and other events.

“We have had tremendous response in the first two years of this campaign and we are looking forward to increasing that momentum, and our impact, even more this year,” said Diane Matheson, Vice President of Marketing for Buffalo Wings & Rings. “We all know a friend, coworker or loved one that has been impacted by cancer and this campaign is just one small way that we are able to use our position in the community to fight towards finding a cure.”
