National Restaurant Trade Ranking Boosts the Fastest Growing Burger Chain to #17
BurgerFi, one of the fastest growing burger chains in the country, is climbing to new heights on the fast casual ladder, ranking #17 in a new survey just released by the industry trade publication Restaurant Business. The ranking is the result of a partnership between Restaurant Business and its research sister Technomic, which looked at the fast casual concepts whose growth is outpacing the segment, based on year-over-year growth.
The fast casual segment is growing by double digits and BurgerFi is currently poised to take an even bigger bite out of the better burger market. Founded in 2011 in Lauderdale-by-the-Sea in South Florida, the chain is on track to have more than 100 restaurants operating by the end of the year.
BurgerFi will also be increasing its international presence. The company has two stores open in Mexico with development underway in Panama, the United Kingdom and Kuwait for locations set to open in 2016.
A major player in the all-natural, antibiotic free burger craze, the chain reported $100 million in sales last year, a 69 percent increase over 2014. Making its better burger faster, BurgerFi recently implemented proprietary technology, reducing cooking time from 4 minutes 30 seconds to 57 seconds.
