Charley’s Grilled Subs to Kick off Baseball Season With Text Campaign Where Every Player Wins

Charley’s Grilled Subs, the 450-unit franchise best known for its Philly Steak sandwiches, is kicking off the 2012 baseball season with its own version of America’s pastime: a six-week text message campaign that awards customers with one of five instant prizes, including a grand slam cash prize of $500.

The “Charley’s at the Bat” SMS campaign, which will run from April 9 to May 12, 2012, awards participants who text the word “swing” to 69529 with one of the following instant prizes:

  • A “single,” which provides a coupon for a free fry with the purchase of a sub
  • A “double,” which provides a coupon for a free fry and drink with the purchase of a sub
  • A “triple,” which provides a coupon for a free gourmet fry and drink with the purchase of a sub
  • A “home run,” which provides a buy-one-get-one-free coupon
  • A “grand slam,” which wins a $500 cash prize

“To loyal Charley’s customers, a good Philly Steak sandwich is just as much part of Americana as baseball,” said Mike Cassar, Charley’s Vice President of Marketing. “It’s only natural to marry the two in the ‘Charley’s at the Bat’ text campaign in which everyone wins.”

After texting “Swing” to 69529, participants will be prompted to send Charley’s their email address via text message. Charley’s will then instantly email the prizes to the provided addresses. Grand slam winners will be notified of their $500 prize winning via email, but will receive their prizes through postal mail. Nine participants will win the grand slam prize. Each customer may only participate once per SMS number.
