Club Corp's Commerce Club an Early Adopter of TopCellar App

Private dining clubs elevate the Member experience through digital technology

TopCellar App is pleased to welcome The Commerce Club – one of the 150 private clubs in the ClubCorp collection – as its first early adopter. The Commerce Club, located in downtown Greenville, South Carolina, will begin using TopCellar App upon its planned launch in iTunes slated for this November.

Developed by the award-winning restaurateur Rick Erwin, TopCellar App is an iPad-based comprehensive, point-of-table solution for boosting wine sales. Erwin originally custom designed and tested first generation predecessor of the TopCellar App in his restaurants, after finding the restaurant industry lacking a viable alternative. After his wine sales increased by 15% upon implementation, Erwin set about to make TopCellar the industry standard. The iPad-based digital wine app is in the final stages of development, with Beta testing to begin in mid-October. The public release of the TopCellar App will occur in November 2012 on iTunes.

Dylan Petrick, General Manager for The Commerce Club, cites the club’s eagerness to increase wine revenue without raising costs to their members: “We are excited about the opportunity to work with TopCellar and to continue to enhance the Member experience,” said Petrick. “Our Members are ‘wine-drinkers’ and we believe this application is a way for our Members to enjoy the process of purchasing wine while continuing to educate themselves about it.”

The Commerce Club is undergoing major renovation, which includes significant upgrades to the club’s technological capabilities. With increased Wi-Fi capabilities, the club is poised to implement the wine app in conjunction with the holiday season – traditionally, the busiest and most profitable time of year in the restaurant industry. “Greenville is becoming more tech savvy and so are our members,” notes Petrick.

“We’re excited about this partnership because we built this product with a set of core beliefs that match the private club industry’s core value proposition of providing superior service and unparalleled guest satisfaction, specifically focusing on both the fine dining experience and wine,” said TopCellar CEO Geoff Wasserman. “TopCellar gives The Commerce Club the most feature-rich, member-centric point of table technology on the market.”

For restaurants focused on boosting wine sales and overall profits, TopCellar is the hospitality industry’s most comprehensive point-of-table solution—including custom-designed iPad-based wine listings and total menu-evolution options— that delivers a more dynamic and satisfying point-of-sale experience for diners, that ultimately translates into increased sales and revenue.
