Pie Five restaurants nationwide aim to raise $50,000 for No Kid Hungry

Dine Out At Pie Five To Help End Childhood HungerOne in six children in America struggles with hunger. That’s why Pie Five Pizza Co. is joining thousands of restaurants nationwide to raise funds for No Kid Hungry.

All 90 of Pie Five’s locations across the country will be pitching in for the “Dough-nate to End Childhood Hunger” campaign from Aug. 28 to Sept. 24. Guests who donate $1 to No Kid Hungry will receive $2 off their next visit. Every dollar donated to the campaign can help feed a hungry child 10 meals.

“We are honored to support No Kid Hungry’s life-changing work in connecting vulnerable children to effective nutrition programs,” said Christina Coy, VP of Marketing. “Pie Five’s goal is to raise $50,000 (equivalent to 500,000 meals) for the campaign during our month-long fundraiser, while also raising awareness about the 13 million kids in our country who struggle with hunger.”

The No Kid Hungry campaign connects kids in need with nutritious food and teaches their families how to cook healthy, affordable meals. The campaign also engages the public to make ending childhood hunger a national priority.

“Everyone has a role in helping end childhood hunger in America,” said Diana Hovey, Senior Vice President of Dine Out For No Kid Hungry. “I encourage everyone to dine out often and to visit NoKidHungry.org to join this national movement to ensure that every child in America has access to the nutritious food they need.”

To help spread awareness, the No Kid Hungry team will be partaking in a month-long, cross-country, multi-city Bus Stop Tour. The bus tour will also feature a social media challenge to redefine “hangry” with a new, more serious message – that we are angry that kids are going hungry in America. The bus will make a special stop on Thursday, Aug. 31, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Pie Five location at 15250 Dallas Pkwy. in Addison, Texas. Be sure to stop by the restaurant to see the bus, plus Pie Five will be giving away swag, coupons and more.
