MenuTrinfo is a certified Women Business Enterprise Company owned by Betsy Craig. MenuTrinfo is a company that provides the service of nutritional analysis and allergen/gluten-free identification for the food service industry. The AllerTrain family of classes came as a direct result of the needs expressed by MenuTrinfo clients in 2010 and early 2011. AllerTrain launched from one class to multiple classes, depending completely on the needs of the stakeholders as determined in the discovery and assessment phases of the program. “We have doubled our growth year after year for our entire AllerTrain suite of courses since we began [these classes] in 2011” states Craig clearly sharing the success of the training programs.
MenuTrinfo started down the accreditation path in April of 2014. Jennifer Frank, Director of Education and Training spearheaded this campaign along side MenuTrinfo founder and CEO Betsy Craig. Jennifer mentions “It was a long road but the outcome is insurmountable as we have just made an already great program even better by being able to state that we are the only ANSI accredited program on the market.
The purpose of AllerTrain is to assist course participants in gaining a thorough understanding of food allergies, Celiac disease, and food intolerances through evidence-based job training. By providing the skills, knowledge and competencies necessary to ensure safe production and delivery of special dietary needs meals, AllerTrain aims to improve overall safety in the food service industry.
The AllerTrain certificate programs are designed to meet the educational needs and interests of adults working in various aspects of the food service industry, including:
- Restaurant general managers, owners, and executive chefs
- Food and safety managers
- Kitchen staff
- Front-of-house staff
- Anyone involved in commercial restaurant operation
- Primary and secondary school administrators
- Food service managers
- Nutritionists/registered dietitians
- Food service directors
During the ANSI accreditation process an oversight committee was formed consisting of top industry professionals. “The oversight committee members service was invaluable to us during this process and they are a huge part of why we reached the goal line” says Craig.
