Jersey Mike’s Subs, known for its fresh sliced/fresh grilled East Coast-style subs, officially opened its doors in Ashburn on April 18. Franchise owner Greg Switaj held a grand opening and free sub fundraiser from Wednesday, April 18 to Sunday, April 22 to support the Brad Kaminsky Foundation, Broad Run High School, and Stone Bridge High School.
The new restaurant, located at 20070 Ashbrook Commons Plaza, circulated 10,000 coupons throughout the community, which offered a free regular sub for a minimum $1 contribution to the Brad Kaminsky Foundation, Broad Run High School, and Stone Bridge High School.
Started at the Jersey Shore in 1956, Jersey Mike’s continued its steady growth in 2011 opening 69 new restaurants throughout the country, a 15 percent increase overall. The popular sub shop wins best sub awards in virtually every market it enters.
Greg Switaj exemplifies Jersey Mike’s quest for excellence as it selects franchise owners who share the company’s commitment to quality products and exceptional customer service and who are dedicated to giving back to the local community. In 2011, locations throughout the country raised more than $2 million for worthy local charities and distributed more than 200,000 free sub sandwiches to help numerous causes.
“I believe that there are three legs to the stool of success and they are quality, service, and charity, all of which are embodied by Jersey Mike’s,” said Switaj. “I am the owner of two other Jersey Mike’s locations in Leesburg and Sterling where I have always been heavily involved in fundraising for the schools, and this is something I will continue to do here in Ashburn. In addition to beginning fundraising efforts for Broad Run High School and Stone Bridge High School, I am also teaming up with the Brad Kaminsky Foundation to help raise money to find a cure for cancer. The Brad Kaminsky Foundation is a wonderful organization which partners with children’s’ hospitals in the Greater Washington, D.C. area and they are dedicated to eradicating all forms of the disease.”
Passionate Jersey Mike’s fans crave their subs made Mike’s Way™ with onions, lettuce, tomatoes and a signature blend of olive oil, red wine vinegar and spices. The company uses only private labeled meats and cheeses that are sliced fresh for each sub sandwich and piled high on in-store baked bread. Everything is quickly made to order for each customer, just the way the first subs were made at the original Jersey Mike’s more than fifty years ago. The Jersey Mike’s experience always includes its trademark neighborly banter served up by a high-energy Jersey Mike’s team.
This is the 3rd Jersey Mike’s location for Greg Switaj. In July 2010, he opened his first Jersey Mike’s location in Leesburg, VA.
