Erbert and Gerbert's Awards Customer With Car in 25th Anniversary Sweepstakes

Erbert & Gerbert’s Sandwich Shop, the national sandwich chain known for its flavorful gourmet subs, recently rewarded Bemidji resident Elizabeth Hirt with a 2013 Kia Soul. Hirt was the grand prize winner of the Erbert & Gerbert’s 25th Anniversary Scratch ‘N’ Win Sweepstakes.

“This is amazing,” said Hirt. “I still feel like I’ve borrowed someone else’s car, like it’s not mine. But it is!”

Customers earned scratch cards with every sandwich they purchased. If they collected all four car parts revealed on the cards, they were entered in the sweepstakes to win. Hirt, who is a junior studying business administration and business management at Bemidji State University, says the timing of her win could not have been better.

“The car I had before actually broke down a week before I won,” she said. “Everyone at work was making that into a joke, saying that hopefully I won the Kia because I didn’t have a car anymore. Then it happened and we were like, ‘No way!’ It’s just crazy that it happened at all.”

Hirt has been a fan and customer of Erbert & Gerbert’s for years, beginning in high school when she would go there to eat after school with friends, and before and after practices and games with sports teams. Her coworkers are also fans, and regularly order Erbert & Gerberts for lunch.

“I started going to Erbert & Gerbet’s in high school and never really stopped,” she said. “I always get the Boney Billy, that’s my favorite!
