Erbert and Gerbert’s Sandwich Shop, the national fast-casual sandwich chain known for its flavorful signature subs and gourmet soups, will be opening its first location in Buffalo, New York this Thursday August 7th at 484 Elmwood Avenue. The owners, local Orchard Park residents —Rustan and Holly Carpenter—also plan to open two additional Erbert & Gerbert restaurants in yet to be determined communities surrounding the Greater Buffalo area before the end of 2016. This will be the first location in New York State.
The couple decided to open their first franchise together upon noticing the significant national increase in consumer demand for fast casual sandwiches and the potential for growth in this industry. The Carpenters have followed the growth of the Erbert & Gerbert’s brand in the Mid-West and wanted to be the first to open a location in New York in order to provide a quick-service sandwich shop that offers not only top-notch products and ingredients but friendly, helpful service as well.
“Our products and customer service are of the highest quality standard which will help us maintain a competitive edge over similar businesses in the area,” said Rustan. “We are especially excited to bring the option of our unique sandwiches and soups to the area of Buffalo where so many local residents spend their workdays and frequently eat lunch; we are excited and ready to share the concept with the community.”
Founded in 1988 in Eau Claire, Wis., Erbert & Gerbert’s has grown to over 75 locations in nine states, with locations ranging from urban centers to rural areas. Growth for 2014 is targeted to Iowa, Indiana, and Illinois, with additional franchises slated to open in Michigan and Texas. For franchising information, visit www.erbertandgerberts.com.
