Fat Boy’s Pizza Express Elevates Guest Experience Through Innovation
Fat Boy’s Pizza – the New Orleans-based fast casual, multi-dimensional pizza franchise – is elevating their guest experience as they introduce a new, service-oriented, drive-thru model and continue incorporating technology to help fuel their growth. The brand boasts the World’s Biggest Slice and has become increasingly known for its whopping 30-inch pies, delectable appetizers, full bar, and community involvement. They currently have eight locations operating throughout Louisiana, Mississippi, and Texas.
Fat Boy’s Express, the brand’s new drive-thru model, opened in Harvey, Louisiana in December 2022 with huge success. The restaurant saw its first 10 days in operation with $93,000 in gross sales and more than 3,500 individual orders placed. The service-oriented concept is built around convenience and features a state-of-the-art, 55-inch digital menu board, that allows guests to preview the menu before ordering with a confirmation screen to ensure accuracy. Additionally, the store uses a Hot Rocks Pizza oven, a $30,000 conveyor oven able to fulfill orders in 120 seconds. Customers will also be able to order inside at self-serve kiosks, through third-party delivery apps, and online.
“We have already begun construction of our second Express location and will continue to look for new sites,” said Casey Biehl, Vice President of Operations at Fat Boy’s Pizza. “Our guests want fast, convenient, and quality food, so we are focused on four to five different pies as well as chicken wings, salads, and fries along with our signature daiquiris and milkshakes within the new model. We believe this concept will be a major catalyst behind our rapid growth strategies due to its low construction and occupancy costs.”
As one of the biggest food service trends in recent years, technology, is revolutionizing the way restaurants operate. From ordering systems to payment methods, technology has given restaurants the ability to provide a consistent customer experience while also streamlining their operations. Fat Boy’s Pizza is continuing to position themselves ahead of the curve with their well-rounded concept and increased use of technology that will allow the brand to ensure rapid growth.
The concept was initially founded in 2019 by Gabe Corchiani, a businessman and restaurateur who hoped to bring a family-friendly restaurant serving New York style pizza to his home state of Louisiana. As the pizza industry continues to thrive, Fat Boy’s Pizza’s well-developed brand image and company culture sets them apart from competitors. The brand’s emphasis on family and community keeps customers engaged and coming back for more. Its philanthropy and fundraising efforts include partnerships with local organizations like the Children’s Hospital of New Orleans, St. Tammany Health System, and Take Paws Rescue.
“Fat Boy’s Pizza is committed to ensuring a seamless guest experience throughout all of our locations and platforms,” said Corchiani. “Our team is continuously looking for better ways to serve our guests and this new model has allowed us to do just that. We are so excited to be able to bring this new concept to new markets around the nation and serve our loyal customers the exceptional Fat Boy’s Pizza they have come to love.”
To continue its expansion and serve communities in new markets, Fat Boy’s Pizza is actively seeking operators with proven restaurant experience and the ability to develop multiple units. Target states include AL, GA, FL, TN, MS and the Carolinas. The company’s high unit volumes, easy labor model and the high demand for pizza offer prospective franchisees an appealing business opportunity. In addition, The Fat Boy’s leadership team has years of combined industry experience and the corporate infrastructure in place to ensure franchisees have the training and support to efficiently open and run locations.
