Gipsee Adds Recipe Nutrient Analysis to Their In-House Capabilities, Becoming an All-In-One Solution for Nutrition Reporting

Gipsee Adds Recipe Nutrient Analysis to Their In-House Capabilities, Becoming an All-In-One Solution for Nutrition ReportingGipsee, a leading provider of interactive, customized nutrition and allergen solutions for restaurants, has added recipe nutrient analysis to the suite of services offered to clients. This addition positions them an all-in-one solution for restaurants who want to provide accurate nutrition and allergen information for diners in a dynamic, digital format.

“We’ve been providing interactive, customized nutrition menus for years, taking the nutrition information our clients provide and making it come alive for consumers in a dynamic digital application,” says Dilip Chopra co-founder of Gipsee. “By adding in-house recipe nutrient analysis to our capabilities, we eliminate a step for our clients and provide a more seamless solution.”

The addition of this capability comes at an important time given many restaurants are busy preparing for FDA’s new menu labeling regulation, which would require restaurants with 20 or more locations to disclose the calories for each menu item on their menu or menu board and provide additional nutrition information (such as fat and sodium) upon request. Both activities depend on an accurate nutrient analysis of the recipe.

Gipsee’s recipe analysis will be led by 20-year industry veteran Wendy Hess, RD, CD. Hess has been providing recipe nutrient analysis services to clients of all shapes and sizes since 1993. In addition to calculating nutrition values of recipes, Hess is well-versed in food labeling regulations. Hess is a member the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and she is a content contributor of the book Recipe Nutrient Analysis: Best Practices for Calculation and Chemical Analysis.

“We are pleased to offer this new service to our clients,” says Chopra. “It’s a natural extension of our portfolio of smart technology designed to meet the needs of today’s operators and consumers.”

Gipsee, Inc. was co-founded by Dilip Chopra and Atul Ahuja based on personal experience with the challenges of eating outside the home with food allergies. Gipsee’s nutrition and allergen solutions are now implemented in over 5,000 restaurant locations in the US and Canada. Gipsee’s technology has won multiple industry and press accolades. Gipsee’s cloud-based platform was designed to do more than display information for consumers. The platform was built to help operators analyze, organize and report nutrition and allergen information as well.
