Summertime…and the livin’ is easy, healthy and fun with HealthyDiningFinder.com’s “Summerlicious Challenge.” The award-winning website has launched a four-week summer promotion to offer health-conscious Americans – and anybody who enjoys dining out (and, frankly, who doesn’t?) – several chances to win deliciously delightful prizes. Each week, participants will complete an easy healthy eating “Challenge” and then be entered to win restaurant gift cards ranging from $50 to the grand prize of $200, redeemable at any HEALTHY DINING restaurant of the winner’s choice.
“There is no better season to celebrate healthy eating than summer, and HealthyDiningFinder.com is excited to provide a fun and interactive way to promote eating and living well,” said Nicole Quartuccio Ring, R.D., HEALTHY DINING’s Director of Restaurant and Community Partnerships. “Through this special promotion, we also want to showcase the myriad HEALTHY DINING restaurants across the country, from fast food to fine dining, where Americans can enjoy delicious and nutritious menu items that accommodate their dietary preferences.”
How the “Summerlicious Challenge” works:
HEALTHY DINING’s website visitors, Facebook and Twitter fans and followers complete a challenge each week and are entered into a drawing for one of several HEALTHY DINING restaurant rewards. The weekly challenge activities include:
- Week 1: Super-Duper-Dish-Decoder – Take a fun quiz to reveal your HEALTHY DINING eating profile and see if you are a Whole Grain Wonder, a Produce Pro, or a Lean Mean Protein Machine.
- Week 2: Napkin Note Tips – Write on a (disposable/paper) napkin a favorite tip or trick to eating healthfully when dining out and post a photo of your “Napkin Nutrition Note” on Facebook/Twitter.
- Week 3: Dine Out – Try a menu item at a HEALTHY DINING-approved restaurant and take a photo or video to share your dining experience.
- Week 4: Share – Send a video, picture or written piece on how HealthyDiningFinder.com has helped you eat better and live a healthier lifestyle.
A weekly winner will be randomly selected from the entries submitted. Weekly challenge submission deadline dates and full contest details are outlined on HealthyDiningFinder.com and its Facebook page.
Ring noted that with the interactive component to share photos, videos and personal experiences, the “Summerlicious Challenge” provides a great way to learn about restaurants that one might not have been familiar with – especially giving summer travelers insights on HEALTHY DINING restaurants in other cities or states. Additionally, it provides inspiration for those who may feel challenged to eat out at restaurants when they are trying to stick to a diet or lifestyle regimen. “We are excited about the potential of this interactive approach in helping healthy diners and food lovers to learn new and beneficial ideas for maintaining a balanced lifestyle, while still enjoying one of America’s favorite activities – dining out,” added Ring.
