Hey, Good Lookin'! Pie Five Pizza Brings a New Tune to Music City

Trend-setting fast-casual pizza chain set to open first Nashville location on July 11

After months of anticipation, the wait is finally over for local pizza lovers, as Pie Five Pizza Co. prepares to open the first of 10 planned locations in Nashville.

Area residents will welcome the new restaurant, located in Donelson at 2266 Lebanon Pike – in The Crossings retail strip just five miles south of the Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center – at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, July 11. The opening marks Tennessee’s introduction to perfectly crafted personal pizzas using only the freshest ingredients, baked to order at one great price. The “five” in Pie Five means it all happens in five minutes or less!

Last November, Pie Five awarded 10 franchise units to local businessmen Rich Davis and Ron Payne. Since then, the partners have been quickly moving to bring the nation’s leading fast-casual pizza brand to the area after seeing the concept catch fire in other markets.

“Of course, the first thing you notice about Pie Five is the cool look and feel of the restaurant. Then you see how fresh our ingredients are and how quickly we can make your own delicious, customized pizza. It’s unlike any other pizza place I’ve ever seen,” said Davis, a successful consultant and entrepreneur/restaurateur who previously brought the popular Schlotzsky’s brand to Nashville. “Ron and I have been eagerly anticipating this moment for the last several months, and we can’t wait to introduce Pie Five to the Volunteer State!”

The Crossings location will open on Friday, July 11, kicking off at 10:15 a.m. with a ribbon cutting with the Donelson Hermitage Chamber of Commerce. On Friday, July 18, an official grand opening celebration will feature a station appearance from 107.5 The River from 6 to 8 p.m., complete with free pie giveaways.

“It’s an exciting time because we know we’re on the verge of changing the way people in Nashville experience pizza,” said Payne, a prominent real estate developer. “Once you come in and see how you can order your own personalized pizza, with as many toppings as you like, all in about five minutes, you’ll understand what all the fuss is about. It’s delicious, and it’s simply perfect for on-the-go people, which all of us seem to be these days.”

At Pie Five, guests can choose from more than a million combinations of handcrafted pizzas and a variety of specialty pie choices prepared in less than five minutes on one of four crusts, all for one low price. The rapidly expanding chain is capitalizing on growing consumer demand for fresh dining options and artisan pizzas in stylish environments without the wait.

Pie Five Pizza has been named among Fast Casual’s 2014 Top 15 “Movers & Shakers,” a 2012 Hot Concepts winner by Nation’s Restaurant News and one of “10 Hot New Restaurant Chains from Established Brands” by Forbes.com. With the Nashville opening, the company now has 21 locations in seven states (Florida, Kansas, North Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Utah and Virginia) with more than 170 announced franchise units under contract in 11 states and Washington, DC.

The Lebanon Pike location will be open daily from 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. A complete menu and more information are available at piefivepizza.com.
