Hooters Donates $7,000 to Hosea Feed the Hungry and Homeless

Hooters of America, LLC, with support from its vendor partners today announced it has donated more than $7,000 to Hosea Feed The Hungry and Homeless (HFTH), a local non-profit organization that supports families and individuals who are living in poverty or are at-risk of slipping into poverty. The donation, valued more than $7,000, includes $4,500 in monetary support, as well as in-kind donations of fresh produce and 75 cases of canned vegetables. Hooters provided this support in concert with select vendor partners, including Ben E. Keith Foods, CH Robinson and Reinhart Foodservice.

The annual HFTH Thanksgiving Dinner Event, the nation’s largest sit-down dinner for the homeless and hungry, will take place on Thursday, Nov. 28 at the Georgia World Congress Center.

HFTH will use a portion of funds donated by Hooters to help sponsor the HAZMAT Trailer, which provides local homeless individuals with access to necessary hygienic amenities—from hot showers to a barber station, pedicure station and beautician area.

“As an Atlanta-based company, Hooters is honored to help support this worthy cause in providing aid to our neighbors and friends here in our own backyard,” said Andrew Pudduck, vice president of marketing, Hooters of America. “This donation builds on Hooters ongoing commitment in supporting members of our community and we look forward to continuing to help Hosea Feed The Hungry and Homeless in furthering its mission.”

HFTH provides quality human services to more than 50,000 families and individuals a year. The organization mobilizes products, volunteers and financial resources to examine and raise public awareness for families and individuals that are living in poverty or could potentially slip into poverty.

“We are grateful for the support of Hooters and the people that helped make this donation possible,” said Mrs. Elisabeth Omilami, president and CEO of Hosea Feed The Hungry. “It is generous donations from major corporations like Hooters that will help us to continue our mission of providing the homeless with access to the crucial resources they need.”
