The #IFA207 Convention will be hosting a special course specifically tailored for veteran-owned franchises and veterans looking to own a franchise. Convention attendees can attend the session, “Promoting Veteran-Owned Franchises” on Tuesday, January 31 at the 10:15 – 11:45 a.m. Morning Breakout Sessions. Each panelist and attendees will be able to discuss techniques, recruitment and better practices among other topics.
The panel, which is comprised of veterans or VetFran members include: CEO & Founder of Sports Clips Inc., Gordon Logan; CEO & Founder of The Rosie Network, Stephanie Brown; SVP of FranDev & Operations of Grease Monkey Int’l Inc., Ralph Yarusso; and the Director of the Center of Excellence for Veteran Entrepreneurship, Misty Stutsman.
“We’re all in agreement that veterans have much to contribute, and I’m proud Sport Clips, our franchisees, team members and clients are among those who work to help veterans take the next steps in their careers.” Says Gordon Logan, CEO & Founder of Sports Clips on his support for veteran-owned businesses.
#IFA 2017, held in Las Vegas Jan. 29 – Feb. 1, offers many additional courses that can help veterans decide upon a franchise or give them great ideas for their existing franchise. For many veterans, easing back into civilian life and determining a career path can be an intimidating experience. It has been found that the skills, values and experiences gained during military service such as leadership, dedication and ability to follow protocol all translate very well into the franchising world. Thus, military training coupled with strong franchise support can prove to be quite the symbiotic relationship.
