Wear Your Favorite Cheesy Holiday Sweater and Get Free Queso on December 16th

It's Time to Get Cheesy at On The Border Mexican Grill & Cantina!Sometimes it’s simply better to be cheesy – like if you’re a nacho, quesadilla, enchilada, or especially if you want a free serving of queso dip at On The Border Mexican Grill & Cantina on December 16th. That’s when National Ugly Sweater Day comes to OTB and guests get a chance to share their most outrageous holiday sweaters over a good laugh, great food, and tasty drinks. The world may be celebrating National Ugly Sweater Day, but at OTB we think these sweaters are well–cheesy– so we have renamed it Cheesy Sweater Day.

“We’ve all seen them – those completely cheesy holiday sweaters that make you say ‘why would anyone ever wear that?!’” said Rebecca Miller, Vice President of Marketing for On The Border . “So we’re giving everyone a reason – Free Queso, of course!”

Served warm and melty, alongside house-made tortilla chips, On The Border’s Queso Dip is one of its most-popular appetizers. All guests wearing a cheesy holiday sweater on December 16th will get a free cup-size serving of the Original Queso recipe – complete with jalapenos, cilantro, and poblano peppers in the mix. Guests may choose to upgrade their Original Queso to carne style with seasoned ground beef for an additional cost. Guests who are feeling extra cheesy may also choose to order bowls of Original Queso or Ultimate Loaded Queso with jack cheese, seasoned ground beef, guacamole, and refried beans, both at regular restaurant prices. It’s a perfect dish for sharing with friends while swapping stories about their own ugly sweaters.

“The holidays don’t have to be hectic and a big deal,” offered Miller. “They absolutely can be fun, and carefree, and, yes – even cheesy. That’s because the season is all about spending time together – not how you look. That’s what makes this the most wonderful time of the year.”
