Jersey Mike’s Subs Opens First Restaurant in Laveen

Jersey Mike’s Subs, known for its fresh sliced/fresh grilled East Coast-style subs, officially opened its doors in Laveen on August 22.  Franchise owners Steve Rosenfield and Linda Nash along with store operators Alicia Rosenfield and Duane Layton held a grand opening and free sub fundraiser from Wed., Aug. 22 to Sun., Aug. 26 to support Cheatham Elementary School.

The new restaurant, located at 5130 W. Baseline Rd, circulated 10,000 coupons throughout the community, which offered a free regular sub for a minimum $1 contribution to Cheatham Elementary School.

Started at the Jersey Shore in 1956, Jersey Mike’s continued its steady growth in 2011 opening 69 new restaurants throughout the country, a 15 percent increase overall.  The popular sub shop wins best sub awards in virtually every market it enters.

Steve Rosenfield, Linda Nash, Alicia Rosenfield, and Duane Layton exemplify Jersey Mike’s quest for excellence as it selects franchise owners and operators who share the company’s commitment to quality products and exceptional customer service and who are dedicated to giving back to the local community.  In 2011, locations throughout the country raised more than $2 million for worthy local charities and distributed more than 100,000 free sub sandwiches to help numerous causes.

“We are looking forward to opening our doors in Laveen and bringing Jersey Mike’s to many of our loyal customers here, said Layton.  “Laveen is a really close-knit community and we have such a great opportunity to give back to the children here by supporting the elementary school.  During our five day fundraiser the different classes at Cheatham can compete to win a Jersey Mike’s party for their class this year.  We think the competition will be a lot of fun for the kids and the fundraiser will really make a difference for the school.”

Passionate Jersey Mike’s fans crave their subs made Mike’s Way with onions, lettuce, tomatoes and a signature blend of olive oil, red wine vinegar and spices.  Unlike its pre-sliced competition, the company uses only private labeled meats and cheeses that are sliced fresh for each sub sandwich and piled high on in-store baked bread.  Everything is quickly made to order for each customer, just the way the first subs were made at the original Jersey Mike’s more than fifty years ago.  The Jersey Mike’s experience always includes its trademark neighborly banter served up by a high-energy Jersey Mike’s team.

This is the fifth Jersey Mike’s location for Steve Rosenfield, Linda Nash, Alicia Rosenfield, and Duane Layton.  In October 2011, they opened their first Jersey Mike’s location in Chandler.
