Ker's WingHouse Bar & Grill Reports Positive Comparable Sales, Increased Average Unit Volume

Ker’s WingHouse Bar & Grill, a Largo, Fla.-based sports-themed wing and casual dining restaurant chain founded by Florida Gator and National Football League (NFL) veteran Crawford Ker, announced today it experienced positive comparable sales for the first half of 2013, in addition to an average unit volume increase of 2.6 percent.

WingHouse also reported strong sales performance for the two new restaurants opened over the past year in Gainesville and Wesley Chapel, Fla. The brand will open its first restaurant in Fort Myers, Fla., in October at 4606 South Cleveland Avenue.

As part of its plans to build a larger presence across Florida and throughout the U.S., WingHouse recently appointed Kenneth Cox as CFO. A restaurant veteran with 28 years of experience, Cox most recently served as president and CEO of Fresh City Acquisition Group LLC. Prior to this, he served in senior leadership roles with Papa Gino’s Holdings Corp., Vinny Testa’s and Margaritas Restaurants.

“We’re grateful for the incredible success WingHouse has had over the past year, from communities embracing our new restaurants to positive responses to our new permanent and limited-time menu items,” said Crawford Ker, CEO and founder of Ker’s WingHouse Bar & Grill. “Ken joins WingHouse at an exciting time as we gear up to enter the Fort Myers market and prepare for even more growth in 2014. I have no doubt his nearly three decades of experience in the restaurant business will help take WingHouse to the next level.”

WingHouse expanded its menu earlier this year with new items that showcase fresh, bold flavors. Menu items included Beer Battered Chicken Fingers, Grilled Boneless Wings, a Southwest Salad and Tricolor Rotini Pasta Salad. WingHouse also brought back its popular $6.99 Summer Shrimp Special, available through Sept. 15.

Since its inception, WingHouse’s mission has been to be “Brilliant on the Basics.” A full liquor sports bar, fantastic chicken wings and award-winning hot sauces served up by the famous WingHouse girls, set the restaurants apart from the competition. Emphasizing fresh products over frozen, WingHouse’s oversized portions and classic American fare include other signature items such as skinless drumettes, naked wings, the Dallas burger and a new drink menu.
