School music program gifted $2,250 in funding & Nashville trip

Logan's Roadhouse Gives Troy, OH Band Ultimate Music City ExperienceLogan’s Roadhouse surprised Troy Christian Schools band program from Troy, OH with additional music program funding during their annual GM Conference this week held at Gaylord Opryland Resort. The grant is part of Logan’s nationwide school grant program to support K-12 music education.

“Logan’s Roadhouse is thrilled to help the program at Troy Christian Schools,” said Logan’s Roadhouse CEO Sam Borgese. “We want to make a difference for young musicians and encourage their creativity. We are proud to be partners with this vibrant music program and help so many deserving students.”

Logan’s Roadhouse brought Troy Christian School’s 14 member band via charter bus for a surprise performance during Tuesday’s conference. Students and school officials used their initial grant of $1,250 to purchase a new drum kit. Additionally, Logan’s executives surprised the band members and school officials with another $1,000 following their conference performance.

“We are so honored to be chosen as a Logan’s Roadhouse grant recipient and to be given this amazing opportunity for our band to perform at the Nashville event,” said Troy Christian Schools Band Director Christina Roberts. “We are grateful for the grant of $1,250 for a new drum set and the great surprise of another $1,000 check we received at the event. We will use this generous gift to purchase other greatly needed instruments for our school band.”

The students were also treated to the ultimate Music City experience. When they arrived on Monday, the students attended a private concert at the Grand Ole Opry. After their performance at the conference, the students toured the Country Music Hall of Fame and RCA Studio B. The entertainment didn’t stop there. The night concluded with dinner and line dancing at Wildhorse Saloon. Before heading back to Ohio Wednesday, the students toured Bridgestone Arena.

Troy Christian’s music program serves students from 5th-12th grade and includes a jazz band, percussion ensemble, drum line and concert band. The additional grant will help the school grow their band program and will foster teamwork, dedication, and discipline. Troy Christian Schools is one of 22 grant recipients selected across the country.

Logan’s Roadhouse officials noted that as a school with limited financial resources, Troy Christian Schools was a perfect candidate for its music grant program. The students look forward to using the new drum set for performances.

In November, Logan’s Roadhouse launched a school grant program to support K-12 music education across the country. In just two months, more than 800 schools applied for grants totaling more than $4 million, highlighting the financial needs of school music programs around the country.

The grant is part of Logan’s Roadhouse recently announced initiative to fund school music programs across the country. This is just the latest effort in Logan’s Roadhouse’s dedication to supporting emerging artists. In fall 2015 CEO Sam Borgese and ASCAP President and Chairman Paul Williams announced a joint effort to support emerging artists through the MUSIC CITY LIVE! Tour. MUSIC CITY LIVE! will kick off in early summer 2016 and the artists will be showcased at specially selected Logan’s Roadhouse locations throughout the country.
