Nation’s leading fast-casual pizza brand to open state’s third restaurant Friday
A better way of experiencing pizza is sweeping the Old Line State and Laurel residents are about to get their first taste of Pie Five Pizza tomorrow.
The nation’s leading fast-casual pizza chain will unveil its newest restaurant in the Laurel Centre Mall Shopping Center at 927 Washington Blvd. S., on Friday, Jan. 16. Doors open at 11 a.m.
The grand opening marks Pie Five’s third location in the greater Washington D.C. market, and Laurel’s introduction to handcrafted, personalized pizzas using only the freshest ingredients, baked to order at one great price. The “five” in Pie Five means it all happens in five minutes or less!
Local franchise owner Alyse Cohen first brought the trend-setting pizza concept to Frederick last August. The Laurel restaurant is one of up to 38 Pie Five franchise units Cohen and her company, ALC Hospitality, plans to open in Southern Maryland, Northern Virginia and the District of Columbia.
“We’ve been preparing for this opening for several months so we’re all excited to finally introduce Pie Five to the people of Laurel,” said Cohen. “We’ve had nothing but rave reviews in Frederick so I’m confident our unique combination of fresh, quality ingredients, individually handcrafted pies and fast, friendly service will be welcome here, too. Also Friday, Cohen will present a check to Delete Blood Cancer DKMS, with proceeds raised from private training events held at the restaurant this week. The New York-based nonprofit organization works every day to delete blood cancer by inspiring people to register as bone marrow donors in order to provide patients with second chances at life. Here’s how the Pie Five experience works. As pizza lovers step to the counter, our Pie-artisans help them choose their favorite crust – artisan thin, classic pan, whole grain Neapolitan or gluten-free thin. The Laurel restaurant will hold an official grand opening ceremony to celebrate its first couple weeks of business on Monday, Feb. 2, with a ribbon cutting compliments of the Baltimore Washington Corridor Chamber at 10:30 a.m. In addition, Hot 99.5 FM will be onsite from noon to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 7, brandishing food and merchandise giveaways.
