Creator of Delicious Holiday Celebrates Aug. 18th with $9.99 Meal Deal and 20% Off Catering
For close to 35 years, On The Border Mexican Grill & Cantina has been serving up its classic sizzling mesquite-wood-grilled fajitas to the delight of guests. The authentic mesquite wood fire brings a unique and authentic flavor to On The Border’s entire fajita selection, making fajitas one of the most popular items on the menu for decades.
That’s why the world’s largest Mexican casual dining brand created National Fajita Day in 2016. For this year’s 2nd annual celebration OTB is turning up the heat on authentic fresh-off-the-fire taste and value with a $9.99 three-course Fajita meal all day on National Fajita Day, Friday, August 18th.
“We’re giving guests everything they want on National Fajita Day,” said Ashley Zickefoose, Chief Marketing Officer for On The Border. Restaurants will be serving chicken, veggie, or roasted pork carnitas fajitas all for just $9.99 and come with two other fan favorites, an appetizer cup of creamy queso and two cinnamon-dusted sopapillas for dessert. “OTB’s fajitas are long-time fan favorites… and we’re adding even more sizzle with an unbeatable value on a complete three-course fajita meal,” added Zickefoose.
But the $9.99 deal is only the beginning for the National Fajita Day inventor. Guests may also choose to upgrade their meal deal to mesquite-grilled steak or shrimp for just $2 more. And, for those that would rather host their own National Fajita Day fiesta On The Border is offering 20% off all catering fajita options for the whole week – including Classic Combo Fajitas, Portobello Fajitas, or Ultimate Fajitas with mesquite-grilled steak, chicken, sauteed shrimp, and pulled pork.
“There’s no question that we love fajitas at OTB – which is why we make them from scratch – with fresh hand-pressed tortillas, perfectly seasoned grilled meats and veggies, and that smoky-yet sweet flavor that only mesquite wood grilling can provide,” continued Zickefoose. “With all the love that goes into our fajitas, of course we felt fajitas truly deserved their own holiday. We’re looking forward to being the National Fajita Day headquarters for every hot, sizzling, crave-able bite,” Zickefoose finished. The brand sold close to 25,000 fajita orders on last year’s National Fajita Day, and anticipates an even bigger celebration this year as the August 18th holiday falls on a Friday.
The OTB $9.99 three-course Fajita Day meal is available at all participating On The Border restaurants all day long on Friday, August 18th.
