Upscale casual restaurant and bar brand secures prime location in one of the city’s most coveted neighborhoods.
For nearly 40 years, Vancouver-based Moxies has been known for everything-made-in-house culinary, signature cocktails, and enlightened hospitality. Since entering the United States market in 2016, the brand has built a highly successful U.S. portfolio of one corporate and seven franchise locations.
Now, Moxies continues its U.S. expansion with a new location in Chicago’s prestigious Gold Coast neighborhood.
The upscale casual restaurant and bar will occupy over 13,600 square feet as the anchor tenant in Newberry on the Triangle, a commercial redevelopment at 1030 N. State Street. The spot has been secured through a lease with JLL and will open in Spring 2026.
Newberry on the Triangle is owned and redeveloped by 11 E. Partners. JLL Managing Directors Adam Cody and Patrick Owens represented Moxies in the transaction.
“We are thrilled to introduce the Moxies experience to Chicagoland’s Gold Coast, an area long celebrated for culinary excellence and innovation,” said Moxies president Joanne Forrester. “Moxies promises creative food and beverage, unparalleled impeccable hospitality, and an upscale but relaxed atmosphere. We hope Moxies Chicago will become a go-to place for locals and visitors to this legendary American city for lunch, dinner, happy hour, and late night.”
Moxies U.S. also seeks franchisee partners in Atlanta, Charlotte, Denver, and Nashville.
