My Friend's Place Deli Celebrates its 40 Year AnniversaryIn 1980, David and Rosalind Katz realized the need in their community for a restaurant with healthy, fast meals using quality ingredients and friendly, neighborhood service.  The first My Friend’s Place, named as a tribute to family and friends’ support and generosity during development of the concept, opened its doors to the public in 1980 in Sandy Springs, GA.

My Friend’s Place Deli challenged the dining norms of the Metro Atlanta community.  Fast-food chains dominated the quick service market and patrons seeking healthy alternative were left with few options.  My Friend’s Place created a place where guests could receive fresh and light salads and sandwiches delivered by friendly employees who knew them by name.

Over the next 40 years, My Friend’s Place expanded locations and introduced a franchise model.  Franchise restaurants nearly doubled their initial sales projections, and the brand became synonymous with the healthy, fit, friendly and fast lifestyle our base customers embodied.  “If you can build relationships,” says My Friend’s Place Deli CEO Sergio Valentin, “you can build a My Friend’s Place business.”

As My Friend’s Place Deli ushers in 40 years of success serving the Atlanta community, the company continues to look to the future.  The menu continues to evolve with the healthy lifestyle of the customer base including gluten-free and vegetarian options.  My Friend’s Place Deli is entering a new era of expansion with an eye towards regional and national franchising.  Franchisees enjoy the quality of life that allows for time with family and the support from a community-oriented corporate office.

“Over the past forty years we have developed a reputation as a fast, fun, fit, friendly restaurant,” says Valentin, “we keep busy and bring nothing but the best to the table.”  My Friend’s Place Deli is a brand to keep an eye on as the future brings expansion and reimagination.

My Friend’s Place offers potential franchisees the ability to work for themselves in a welcoming, family environment without working unreasonable weekly hours.  The typical location is open Monday – Saturday 10 AM to 3 PM. This allows a work/life balance for franchisees and restaurant staff which is a core value of the brand.
