Newk’s Franchisee Team to Open Third Location in the East Alabama Area
Newk’s Eatery’s franchisee team JMH Dining will be bringing Newk’s signature brand of fresh, flavorful dining into the Heart of Auburn shopping center with the franchisee team’s third Newk’s Eatery in East Alabama. Located adjacent to Auburn University, the fast-casual restaurant will be opening its doors on Monday, June 8, at 11 a.m. The Newk’s franchisee group opened its first Alabama location in Montgomery in October 2013, followed by the opening of a second restaurant in Opelika at the Tigertown Shopping Center in March 2014.
“Newk’s vibrant mix of fresh, hand-made entrées along with its casual, community-centered dining atmosphere perfectly suits the palate and pace of a college town,” said Newk’s franchisee Matt Collins. “Offering a wide-range of gourmet-inspired salads, pizzas, sandwiches and more— each boasting bold flavor profiles— we are big believers that good living comes in part from good eating, and we look forward to engaging the Auburn community around the table at our new location.”
Positioned on 340 S. Gay Street, Newk’s Auburn location will offer indoor dining for 145 guests and patio dining for nearly 30 more in its roughly 4,200 square-foot space. The restaurant will provide job opportunities for close to 75 applicants within the area and will be open from 11 a.m. until 10 p.m. Monday through Sunday.

The Jackson, Miss.-based Newk’s Eatery currently has roughly 80 locations in 13 states and plans to expand to more than 200 units by the end of 2018. Newk’s has been named among FastCasual.com’s top 20 Movers and Shakers and is featured on Technomic’s list of top 50 fast casual chains nationwide.
