The casual, upscale Newk’s Eatery offers a variety of quality, craveable menu options from the franchise’s open-view kitchens, including fresh-tossed salads, oven-baked sandwiches, California-style pizzas, made-from-scratch soups and homemade cakes. The culinary-driven dining concept features exceptional ingredient combinations like salads with chicken, cranberries, pecans, artichoke hearts and gorgonzola cheese on a bed of spring greens, for mouth-wateringly distinct flavor profiles.
Newk’s offers a separate catering menu and original programs that keep customers coming back. Newk’s Roundtable Club members get special offers to reward them for their repeat patronage. The club is named after the table featured in the center of every location that offers various complimentary spices, toppings and add-ons, allowing diners to customize their menu items. Another original Newk’s concept is Grab-n-Go, which gives busy patrons the option to quickly pick out a favorite menu item from the select offerings in the restaurant’s open, stand-up refrigerator case for an on-the-go lunch or take-out dinner.
Behind the Jonesboro store is franchise company Roundtable Enterprises, which consists of seasoned entrepreneurs and first-time Newk’s franchisees E. Scot Davis, Wes Williams and Wade Quinn. Wade, a Jonesboro native, sparked the other two partners’ interest in Newk’s after he got word of the brand and its potential. With his excitement peaked after further investigation into Newk’s, Wade discussed the opportunity with Wes, with whom he had done business previously. Wes and Scot, then neighbors whose kids often played together, were both familiar with the restaurant from time spent traveling for youth baseball tournaments. All were interested in bringing Newk’s to Jonesboro, and thus, the partnership was born.
“We were all fascinated with the concept, sleek design, fresh food and tremendous business opportunity that presented itself through Newk’s and felt that the timing of the project was perfect,” said Wade Quinn. “Jonesboro has not yet experienced the fresh casual dining that Newk’s will bring to this market.”
The diverse backgrounds of these three make for a well-rounded franchise company, with each partner bringing expertise in a different arena. Wade, who owns Swank and Bassett Design Center, and Wes, who owns several Vegas Tan Company stores, both have retail experience and have been in business in Jonesboro for an extended period of time. Scot, as the former chief financial officer/chief operating officer of several large health care practices and current CEO of Arkansas Urology, brings with him strong financial acumen to the partnership. Wes and Wade reside in Jonesboro, while Scot, who lived in Jonesboro for 14 years, now calls Little Rock home.
Following the grand opening, Newk’s Jonesboro will host an official ribbon-cutting with the Chamber of Commerce and local dignitaries on Thursday, Nov. 21. To view the menu or learn more about Newk’s Eatery, visit newks.com or the Jonesboro store’s Facebook page.
