Newk’s Eatery, a fresh casual restaurant concept known among its loyal following for its culinary-inspired menu with an emphasis on freshness and flavor, will officially begin serving food at its second Southaven location in Southaven Towne Center Mall on Monday, Nov. 18.
The fresh casual, upscale Newk’s Eatery offers a variety of quality, craveable menu options from the franchise’s open-view kitchens, including fresh-tossed salads, oven-baked sandwiches, California-style pizzas, made-from-scratch soups and homemade cakes. The culinary-driven dining concept features exceptional ingredient combinations like salads with chicken, cranberries, pecans, artichoke hearts and gorgonzola cheese on a bed of spring greens, for mouth-wateringly distinct flavor profiles.
Newk’s offers a separate catering menu and original products that keep customers coming back. Newk’s Roundtable Club members get special offers to reward them for repeat visits. The club is named after the table featured in the center of every location that offers various complimentary spices, toppings and add-ons, allowing diners to customize their menu items. Another original Newk’s concept is Grab-n-Go, which gives busy guests the option to drop in and quickly pick out a favorite menu item from the select offerings in the open, stand-up refrigerator case at the front of the restaurant.
Behind Newk’s Southaven is franchisee Daniel Garrett, who opened the very first franchise-owned Newk’s Eatery restaurant in Southaven in 2005. Growing up, Daniel had the opportunity to learn the tools of the franchise trade from his father, Mark Garrett. Throughout the years, Mark owned and operated 16 franchise restaurants in the Memphis area, inspiring his son to follow in his footsteps.
After the first Southaven location successfully opened, Daniel expanded his restaurant business and opened five more Newk’s in the Memphis metropolitan area, including the most recent second restaurant in Southaven. He also opened a Newk’s in Springfield, Mo. and has plans to open three additional stores in the southwest Missouri area, to make a total of nine Newk’s in all.
“I believe Newk’s is the future in the restaurant industry for fresh, quick dining and am pleased to be a part of that movement,” says Garrett.
Each of Garrett’s restaurants are overseen by Nick Lancaster, Director of Operations.
