Dickey’s Barbecue Pit is planning a global barbecue takeover and Charlotte is next on its list. The world’s largest barbecue chain has ten stores in North Carolina with additional stores in development. More lip smackin’ barbecue is coming to Raleigh, Sanford, and Hickory in 2012.
“Customers have been flocking to Dickey’s Barbecue Pit since arriving in North Carolina in 2007,” said Roland Dickey, Jr., president of Dickey’s Barbecue Restaurants, Inc. “We look forward to continued momentum – bringing more of our great barbecue to the area.”
The new location in Sanford is located at 2278 Jefferson Davis Hwy and will be opening on Thursday, April 5. The first 100 customers will receive a free pulled pork big barbecue sandwich. This store is owned and operated by Ronald Bridges and Gloria Perez who also own the Southern Pines location.
Dickey’s Barbecue added over 66 stores last year and is planning to add 100 new locations nationwide in 2012. With every new restaurant, the company creates additional jobs for landlords, brokers, construction companies, and of course the city itself. This is great news for North Carolina.
“We have the best barbecue and our customers comment on how fresh and lean all of the meats are,” said Dickey’s Area Developer and Owner/Operator, Gregory Woloszczuk. “My wife started the term “naked barbecue” which refers to having no sauce on your meat so that you can savor the taste of the juicy hickory smoked pulled pork as it melts in your mouth – our customers love it.”
Gregory and Maureen Woloszczuk’s company, GMW Carolina, Inc. became the first Area Developer for Dickey’s Barbecue Restaurants, Inc. They are also multi-unit franchise owners. They own three of the locations located in the Triangle. Their goal is to help expand the brand statewide.
“This is a great franchise for families who want to own and operate a business that truly enjoy,” said Maureen Woloszczuk. “It’s an opportunity to work with nice people, give back to the community, and make a profit at the same.”
