Trend-setting fast-casual pizza chain set to open state’s first location on Aug. 29
The wait is finally over for pizza lovers throughout the Old Line State, as Maryland’s first Pie Five Pizza Co. restaurant is set to open in Frederick this week.
Area residents will officially welcome the trend-setting pizza eatery, located at 200 Shorebird St. – just east of Catoctin Mountain Highway and north of Liberty Road – at 11 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 29. The opening marks Maryland’s introduction to perfectly crafted personalized pizzas using only the freshest ingredients, baked to order at one great price. The “five” in Pie Five means it all happens in five minutes or less!
Pie Five recently awarded 38 franchise units to ALC Hospitality, a restaurant management company owned by Alyse Cohen. Cohen, who grew up in the hotel/hospitality industry, will lead the charge in bringing the nation’s leading fast-casual pizza concept to Southern Maryland, Northern Virginia and the District of Columbia.
“Pie Five has clearly distinguished itself within the pizza space with its personalized approach, quality ingredients and speed of service – there’s nothing else out there quite like it,” Cohen said. “I have been eagerly anticipating this moment for the last several months, and can’t wait to introduce Pie Five to Frederick and our neighboring cities.”
Official grand opening festivities for the Frederick location will kick off with a ribbon cutting ceremony, compliments of the Frederick Chamber of Commerce, at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 5. In addition, WFRE 99.9 FM will be onsite from 5-7 p.m., complete with food and merchandise giveaways. A check presentation will also be made to the Frederick County Food Bank, thanks to proceeds raised from private training events
being held at the restaurant this week.
