Pizza Hut Celebrates Return Of Football With The World's Greatest Pizza Party In Times Square

Cake at weddings. Hot dogs at baseball games. Popcorn at the movies. Some foods just go perfectly with an occasion. When it comes to football, that food is undeniably pizza.

Nobody knows that more than Pizza Hut®, which is why America’s No. 1 pizza company is set to kick off the return of football by hosting The World’s Greatest Pizza Party in New York City’s Times Square on Sunday, Sept. 8.  The World’s Greatest Pizza Party will include Pizza Hut team members serving up free slices of cheese or pepperoni pizza from the company’s Mobile Kitchen, a 53-foot 18-wheeler equipped with pizza ovens. The Pizza Hut team will dish out roughly 5,500 slices of pizza throughout the day, in recognition of the brand’s 55th Anniversary.

“Our customers have told us that Pizza Hut is often at the center of their game time experience, so we want to start the season off right,” says Kurt Kane, Chief Marketing Officer, Pizza Hut. “No pizza company will be in more households during this football season than Pizza Hut, and in celebration of that shared love for football with our fans, we’re throwing a great Pizza Party in New York City just like our fans will in their homes across the country.”

In addition to the Pizza Party in Times Square, Pizza Hut is hosting a virtual Pizza Party on Twitter, giving away free pizza to lucky followers using the hashtag #WorldsGreatestPizzaParty. On any given Sunday, Pizza Hut dishes out more than 8 million slices of pizza.
