Retail rock stars count the days until Black Friday. Techies set their digital timers for Cyber Monday. And pizza lovers – as passionate of a group as any – can now hone in on “Red Roof Wednesday” to make their most important purchases of the holiday season.
Pizza Hut, the world’s largest pizza company, will mark one of the busiest pizza-eating days of the year – Thanksgiving Eve – with a smorgasbord of deals, including 50 percent off an online purchase of its new Overstuffed Pizza to the first 1,000 fans who visit the promotion beginning at 4 a.m. EST this Wednesday, Nov. 21 on PizzaHut.com (redeemable 11/21-11/28/2012).
Pizza Hut expects to sell more than 1 million pizzas on Red Roof Wednesday as stuffed households gather for the holidays but want to stay out of the kitchen before the big day.
“Red Roof Wednesday, the day before Thanksgiving, is one of our busiest days of the year,” said Kurt Kane, CMO, Pizza Hut. “While families gather from near and far to celebrate the holiday, we are excited to help make it great with an incredible new product stuffed with everyone’s favorite combinations from Pizza Hut.”
To create the new Overstuffed Pizza, Pizza Hut combined pizza sauce, toppings and extra cheese seasoned with a special Italian blend between two layers of golden crust. It is available in two recipes: Italian Meat Trio (Pepperoni, Pork, and Italian Sausage) or Supremo (Italian Sausage, onion, green pepper and mushroom). Red Roof Wednesday early birds have a chance to get the Overstuffed Pizza for only $6.49, that’s half off the regular price of $12.99.
