Innovative pairing available just in time for March sports action
When the calendar turns to March, you know it’s time for some of the best college and pro sports viewing of the year. It’s also time for pizza and wings.
The envelope-pushing chefs at Pizza Inn got to thinking: Why not take the very best from both classic items and put them together in one delectable treat?
Beginning Monday, March 2, Pizza Inn restaurants across the nation are rolling out their innovative new WingPies — pizzas created in four savory wing flavors:
- Frank’s RedHot Buffalo Chicken Pizza – an ingenious combination of creamy ranch sauce, all white meat chicken breast, cheddar and mozzarella cheeses and Frank’s RedHot Buffalo Sauce;
- BBQ Chicken Pizza made with Bull’s Eye – diced all white meat chicken breast, onions, cheddar and mozzarella cheeses baked to perfection with Bull’s Eye BBQ Sauce.
- Spicy Asian Chicken Pizza – a new recipe featuring sweet chili sauce, all white meat chicken breast, onions, sliced green peppers and mozzarella cheese;
- Fireside Hickory Chicken Pizza – another new recipe with the ultimate combination of ranch dressing, mozzarella cheese, diced tomatoes, peppers, onions, all white meat chicken breast and a Hickory Bourbon sauce drizzle.
But don’t get caught up in the madness of March and miss out. This limited-time offering will only be available until April 12, 2015.
“Whether you’re watching the college basketball tourney or just looking for a delicious twist on two of your favorite foods, we think you’ll love our new WingPies,” said Amanda Morgan, Pizza Inn’s vice president of marketing. “I suggest you try one of each flavor, because they’re all so unique. But you may have a hard time deciding which one is your favorite. I know I did!”
Pizza Inn is taking the excitement from the WingPies introduction to social media as well. A Facebook contest, running from March 2 through March 27, invites followers to take the “WingPie-sonality Test” to see which flavor most closely matches their personality. Four winners will be selected each week to receive a 32 oz. WingPie Collector’s Cup and a voucher card that may be redeemed for a free WingPie.
