Popular international chain awards operators for excellence at Savannah conference
Franchise owners and team members of Pizza Inn gathered last month to recognize the outstanding achievements and contributions of their brethren at the 2014 National Franchise Convention in Savannah, Ga.
The three-day event was held June 24-26 and featured presentations from company leaders, franchisee best practices panels and an awards ceremony celebrating Pizza Inn’s top performers.
“Our annual conventions are a time of learning and fellowship for our franchise owners; each year is an opportunity for them to grow as individuals and together as a family,” said Steve Link, Pizza Inn’s vice president of operations. “We have an immensely talented and savvy group of operators, which speaks directly to the successful track record of this company. Pizza Inn remains a popular destination for pizza lovers thanks to these individuals and the hard work they and their employees put into their restaurants each and every day.”
Just as Pizza Inn has been serving up delicious pizzas for 55 years, the event spotlighted operators from across the country who “Keep the Fire Burning” with their many contributions to the chain’s on-going success. Honorees included:
Franchisee of the Year – Larry Rust, Paducah, KY
Also known as the Griff Glover Award, this recognition symbolizes exemplary dedication to customer satisfaction, community service and team leadership.
H.M. Poythress Award – Keith Herrley, Big Spring and Snyder, TX
This award is given for consistently demonstrating a passion for the company’s highest quality products and services.
Extreme Makeover Award – Jilll Nielsen, Goldsboro, NC
In recognition of significant accomplishments in the areas of sales growth and customer satisfaction through remodeling efforts.
Paul Turner Award – Daven Acker, Spartanburg and Duuncan, SC
Presented by the Pizza Inn Franchise Association, this award recognizes the outstanding personal contributions and commitment by a Pizza Inn franchisee.
“Each of this year’s award winners embodies the passion, the character and the dedication to excellence that every franchisee should emulate,” said Randy Gier, chief executive officer of Pizza Inn Holdings. “Although we have dozens of outstanding operators that would have been worthy recipients of these honors, these four individuals truly distinguished themselves over the past year. It is a privilege to count them among our team.”
