Red Mango Celebrates 200th Location

Only five years after opening its first location, Red Mango, America’s #1 Zagat-rated frozen yogurt and smoothies chain, has announced its 200th store will open in The Woodlands, Texas this month.

Located at 10868 Kuykendahl Road in The Woodlands Crossing Shopping Center, the store welcomes customers in a few days, and will champion many honors for the fast-growing chain. In addition to being the 200th location, the newest Red Mango will feature eight yogurt machines serving 16 different flavors, the most of any Red Mango location in North America.

The store also graduates franchise owner Jay Randle to the title of multi-unit owner/operator. As one of the first people to introduce the brand to the greater Houston area, Randle is part of a growing Houston presence and larger franchising story that has expanded Red Mango from coast to coast.

“When it’s a great product like Red Mango, everything is right,” says Randle, who opened his first Red Mango at the Market Street Shopping Center at 9595 Six Pines in The Woodlands in 2009.

Randle has a three-store development agreement and is already looking at sites for his third location. He credits the brand’s core product of all-natural, kosher, gluten-free frozen yogurt that is rich in probiotics for much of that success.

“We think Red Mango tastes the best and is the best for you, and we hear that from guests all the time,” added Randle, who runs the business with wife, Denise, and his sister, Debra Guindi. “Customers love swirling their favorite flavor and then adding toppings to create a completely unique concoction all their own.”

With stores open in 30 states across the country, locations in development in four more states, and successful entry into Mexico, Red Mango has expanded on a national and international level at record speed.

Red Mango, one of the fastest growing retailers of all-natural nonfat frozen yogurt and fresh fruit smoothies, opened its first U.S. store in July 2007 in Los Angeles, and has since celebrated 200 store openings in North America. Red Mango was named the number one smoothie and frozen yogurt chain in America in Zagat’s 2011 National Chain Restaurants Survey. Other awards have included the prestigious Nation’s Restaurant News’ “Hot Concepts!” award and the industry-recognized SupplySide’s “Scientific Excellence Award,” as well as best frozen yogurt honors in Dallas, Seattle, Las Vegas, Chicago, Utah and New York by highly-regarded independent publications. Headquartered in Dallas, Red Mango serves uniquely delicious frozen yogurt that is all-natural, nonfat and lowfat, gluten-free and fortified with beneficial live and active probiotic cultures like GanedenBC30®(Bacillus coagulans GBI-30, 6086), which helps support the immune and digestive systems when consumed as part of a balanced diet and healthy lifestyle. Red Mango is the first frozen yogurt retailer to earn the National Yogurt Association’s Live and Active Cultures seal for meeting the required criteria for healthy frozen yogurt. Red Mango recently expanded its menu to include satisfying meal options such as its all-natural fruit and yogurt parfaits and fresh fruit smoothies.
