Red Mango has officially opened in Mexico through an international development agreement with Mexican theater chain Cinemex, introducing the country to America’s #1 Zagat-rated brand of frozen yogurt and smoothies at free-standing and theater-based locations.
Leveraging its experience as a leading entertainment and food concept company in Mexico, Cinemex, with its 184 movie theaters, selected Red Mango for its award-winning all-natural nonfat frozen yogurt and fresh fruit smoothies to offer consumers the very best.
Red Mango locations at Centro Comercial Santa Fe, Park Plaza Santa Fe, and Cinemex Pabellon Polanco, all in Mexico City, are already serving large crowds of consumers who have quickly become passionate fans of the company’s frozen yogurt and smoothies. Swift store development is underway in response to the growing consumer demand for the delicious frozen treats for which Red Mango has gained international recognition.
“Red Mango has quickly become very popular in Mexico City,” said Javier Ezquerro, Red Mango Project Leader of Cinemex. “People love the delicious menu, and the values of health, taste and style for which the Red Mango brand is known throughout the world. We have ambitious plans to open many more Red Mango stores throughout the country.”
“Mexico’s embrace of our brand and menu has far exceeded our expectations,” said Barry M. Barron Sr., chief executive officer of Red Mango. “Cinemex is a tremendous partner, and has developed beautiful Red Mango stores in record time. With its national reach and vast experience in hospitality and entertainment, we look forward to Cinemex opening many more Red Mango locations and helping to establish the Red Mango brand as the preeminent purveyor of the healthiest and best-tasting frozen yogurt and smoothies in North America.”
As Mexico continues to grow the Red Mango brand, the U.S.-based frozen yogurt leader has already begun discussions with other international companies to enter additional countries throughout North, Central and South America.
“The demand for healthier food options is escalating everywhere, and we see the significant opportunity to extend the national success of Red Mango throughout the world,” Barron said. “Mexico has set a wonderful example of what we can accomplish on an international scale, and we will continue to forge the strategic relationships that fuel the global growth of the Red Mango brand.”
Red Mango, one of the fastest growing retailers of all-natural nonfat frozen yogurt and fresh fruit smoothies, opened its first U.S. store in July 2007 in Los Angeles, and has since celebrated more than 170 store openings in North America.
