MASTRO’S RESTAURANTS based in Woodland Hills, CA (founded 1999) has increased by 1 unit, from 9 to 10 (11% growth), adding a new concept called Beverly Hills Penthouse.  Other company concepts are City Hall Steakhouse (1), Mastro’s Ocean Club (3) and Mastro’s Steakhouse (5).  These are upscale steak and seafood restaurants with full bar and seating for around 300, serving dinner only.  Per person check average is around $15-$50+.  Banquets are offered.  Locations are in AZ, CA, IL and NV.

MAZATLAN MEXICAN RESTAURANT of Auburn, WA has increased by 1 unit, from 12 to 13 (8% growth).  These are family/casual Mexican restaurants with full bar and seating for around 300.  Meal periods are lunch and dinner.  Per person check average is around $6-$15+.  Catering and banquet services are offered.  All locations are in WA.

Vancouver, BC-based WRAP ZONE (founded 1996) has increased by 1 unit, from 6 to 7 (17% growth).  This fast casual sandwich shop is open for lunch and dinner, with a $4-$10 per person check average.  Seating is for about 10-20.  All locations are franchised and trade in BC.

Texas-based YAGHI’S NEW YORK PIZZERIA has increased by 1 unit, from 6 to 7 (17% growth).  The restaurants are quick serve, open for lunch and dinner.  Per person price range is $4-$10.  Units seat about 30 and offer catering and delivery services.  All locations are in TX.

Cary, NC-based SMITHFIELD CHICKEN & BBQ (founded 1964) has increased by 1 unit, from 32 to 33 (3% growth).  This fast casual concept is open for lunch and dinner, with a $4-$10 per person price range.  Seating is for about 40 and catering is available.  All stores are in NC.  Between 40% and 50% of units are franchised.

New York, NY-based FELIDIA (founded 1981) has increased by 1 unit, from 6 to 7 (17% company growth), with the addition of a new concept called Eataly.  The company also operates Becco (1), Del Posto (1), Esca (1), Felidia (1), and Lidia’s (2).  These are all upscale Italian concepts, open for lunch and dinner.  Per person check average is $15-$50+, with full bar and average seating for around 200.  Banquet services are available.  The restaurants operate in MO, NY, and PA.

NECTAR of Berwyn, PA has increased by 1 unit, from 4 to 5 (25% growth) adding a new concept called Mandarin Garden.  Other company concepts are Cin Cin (1), Nectar (1) and Tango (1).  Locations tend to be upscale with full bar and seating for around 200.  Meal periods are lunch and dinner.  Per person check average is around $15-$50+.  Catering and banquet services are offered.  All locations are in PA.

Seattle, WA-based PAGLIACCI PIZZA (founded 1979) has increased by 2 units, from 22 to 24 (9% growth).  This fast casual Italian & pizza concept is open for lunch and dinner, with a $6-$15+ per person check average.  Most locations seat about 70, offering beer and wine.  Others are take-out/delivery only.  Catering service is available at all locations.  All stores are located in WA.

Lakewood, CO-based TUCANOS BRAZILIAN GRILL (founded 2000) has increased by 2 units, from 5 to 7 (40% growth) and entered into MO and VA.  This is an upscale Brazilian steakhouse concept, open for lunch and dinner.  Per person check average is $15-$50+, with full bar service and seating for about 300.  Catering and banquet services are available.  Trading areas are CO, ID, MO, NM, UT, and VA.

New York, NY-based SERAFINA RESTAURANT GROUP (founded 1995) has increased by 5 units for the Serafina concept, from 11 to 16 (45% concept growth) and entered into FL, PA, India, Japan, and Russia.  The company also added 1 unit for their Cognac concept, from 1 to 2 (100% concept growth).  The company also operates Geisha (1) and Manana (1).  Overall company increase was from 14 to 20 (43% growth).  The restaurants are upscale, serving Italian cuisine.  Per person check average is $15-$50+, open for lunch and dinner.  The restaurants have full bar service and average seating for around 150.  Catering and banquet services are available.  Trading areas are FL, NY, PA, India, Japan, and Russia.

Plymouth, MA-based BRITISH BEER COMPANY has increased by 2 units, from 11 to 13 (18% growth) and entered into NH.  This family casual bar and grill concept is open for lunch and dinner, with an $8-$20 per person check average.  The restaurants serve full bar and seat about 125.  Private party facilities are available.  Trading areas are MA, NH, and RI.

New York, NY-based JUST SALAD (founded 2006) has increased by 1 unit, from 13 to 14 (8% growth).  This fast casual salad concept is open for lunch and dinner, with a $4-$10 per person price range.  Units seat about 50 and offer catering and delivery service.  Locations are in NY, Hong Kong, and Singapore.  We featured this concept on 5/15/12 (29% growth) and on 10/2/12 (44% growth).

Columbia, SC-based GROUCHO’S DELI (founded 1941) has increased by 2 units, from 23 to 25 (9% growth) and entered into GA.  This family/casual concept is open for lunch and dinner, with a $4-$10 per person price range.  Locations serve beer and wine and seat about 125.  Catering and delivery services are available.  All units are franchised and trade in GA, NC, and SC.  We last wrote about this concept on 10/16/12 (5% growth).

Fort Wayne, IN-based WINGS ETC (founded 1994) has increased by 2 units, from 22 to 24 (9% growth) and entered into MO and NC.  These family/casual chicken restaurants are open for lunch and dinner, with a $6-$12 per person price range.  Units serve beer and seat about 150.  Catering is available.  Between 70% and 80% of locations are franchised.  Trading areas are IL, IN, MI, MO, and NC.  We last wrote about this concept on 9/4/12 (10% growth).

ELEVATION BURGER of Arlington, VA (founded 2005) has increased by 2 units, from 34 to 36 (6% growth).  These are fast casual restaurants with seating for around 70.  Meal periods are lunch and dinner.  Per person check average is around $6-$12.  Locations are more than 90% franchised and are in CA, FL, IN, MD, ME, NC, NJ, NY, PA, TX and VA.  We last reported on this concept on 2/7/12 when they had 25% growth.

JIMMY’S EGG of Edmond, OK (founded 1980) has increased by 4 units, from 31 to 35 (13% growth).  These are family/casual restaurants with seating for around 150.  Meal periods are breakfast and lunch. Per person check average is around $6-$12.  Catering and franchising are offered.  Locations are in KS, NE, OK and TX.  We wrote about this concept on 7/24/12 (7% growth).
