All 324 restaurants celebrate a double anniversary with Family Night and “Ghostbusters”
Ryan’s, HomeTown Buffet, and Old Country Buffet are celebrating two big anniversaries in October with the second anniversary of the restaurants’ popular Thursday Family Night and the 30th anniversary of the popular and enduring Ghostbusters franchise. In honor of the films’ milestones, Ghostbusters I and II are being released on Blu-ray as special anniversary editions that will also feature a $3-off dinner coupon good at any of the 324 family-style restaurants. All the restaurants will also feature Ghostbusters–themed activities every Family Night in October.
“We attribute the success of our Family Nights to the fun and interactive experiences we are able to create for families to enjoy together,” said Rob Crews, Senior Vice President of Marketing for Ovation Brands. “We have aligned ourselves with popular promotional partners, like Ghostbusters, that appeal to both parents and kids.”
Sony Pictures Home Entertainment released the Ghostbusters 30th Anniversary Edition on Blu-ray and the Ghostbusters II 25th Anniversary Edition on September 16, 2014. Both films will be available in a two-disc anniversary edition Blu-ray Digibook, as well as a limited edition gift set that includes an exclusive collectible Slimer figurine and the two-disc Digibook. This special gift set will only be available for a very limited time, with the collectible Slimer figurine being a true must-have for fans. Both films have been fully restored and re-mastered in 4K and will be presented in high definition on Blu-ray from those 4k sources.
Starting Thursday, October 2, Ryan’s, HomeTown Buffet, and Old Country Buffet will also be celebrating Family Night with a free in-store activity that features the popular and lovable Slimer. Kids can take home their very own “Slimer Feeder,” where they can launch paper food into Slimer’s mouth. Supplies available while they last.
Family Night pairs free and engaging activities with dinner favorites. Families may enjoy kid-friendly menu items including corn dogs, pizza, spaghetti, cotton candy, and seasonal offerings, along with other home-style meals typically served at the restaurants. Kids 11 years and younger eat for just $1.99 or less from 5 to 8 p.m. on Family Night. Each month also boasts a new promotion that allows parents and children to bond over a meal.
