The ideas for Sizzler’s new limited-time offer sandwiches came not from its test kitchen, but from its dining rooms. For years, Sizzler guests have been observed stacking steak between cheese toast and stuffing shrimp into split dinner rolls. Now, Sizzler is doing the work for them.
Three all-new sandwiches are putting Sizzler’s signature steak, seafood and chicken into guests’ hands. The new Aged Tri-Tip Sandwich, covered in BBQ sauce and topped with hand-breaded onion straws, is served on a freshly baked French roll with seasoned “Street Fries.” The fries are dusted with Sizzler’s proprietary, new seasoning pioneered on its food truck.
The Crispy Shrimp Po’ Boy features breaded shrimp, tomato and lettuce in a tangy Bang Bang sauce served on a freshly baked French roll, also with Street Fries on the side. The third limited-time option is Tuscan Chicken with lettuce and tomato topped with a sun-dried tomato mayo on focaccia. It, too, is accompanied by Street Fries. The sandwiches start at $6.99.
“Sandwiches are growing in popularity with consumers. These crave-able items tap into that trend, offering guests an opportunity to enjoy signature Sizzler flavors in a new way,” said Chef Tamra Scroggins, Sizzler R&D Manager. “We’ve always been known for our steak, seafood and salads. We may need to change that to steak, seafood, salads and sandwiches.”
Sizzler’s new sandwiches are available at participating locations until October 28, 2012.
