New restaurant set to open Sept. 19, marks second location in Florida
While pizza lovers down in Port Orange have been enjoying their slice of personalized pie bliss since January, Daytona Beach residents are revving up for their own victory lap, as Pie Five Pizza Co. will open the Sunshine State’s second restaurant near the Daytona International Speedway this week.
Located at 1388 W. International Speedway Blvd., in the K-Mart Plaza next to the new Starbucks and just a mile from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, the trend-setting pizza eatery opens at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 19. The grand opening celebration will also include a ribbon cutting by the Daytona Beach Chamber of Commerce and a check presentation to Project Warm, a program funded by the Stewart-Marchman-Act Foundation, at 4 p.m. that day.
Franchise operator Gale Lemerand and his team will donate half of their sales from pre-opening training events held this week to the nonprofit organization, which delivers exceptional and comprehensive behavioral healthcare to individuals and families in the local community.Daytona Beach’s rock station 95.7 FM “The Hog” will also be onsite from 6-8 p.m. that evening, adding to the excitement with food and merchandise giveaways.
