Outback Steakhouse celebrates this year’s Outback Bowl winner by offering free appetizers nationwide
“Extra, extra, read all about it! Bloomin’ Onions for all, and we’re gonna shout it!” The Florida Gators were victorious against the Iowa Hawkeyes in today’s Outback Bowl game, which means Outback Steakhouse will be offering free Bloomin’ Onion appetizers nationwide tomorrow, Jan. 3. Simply say “Outback Bowl” to your server to receive the offer, valid with any purchase.
For 22 years, the Outback Bowl has hosted the nation’s Boldest Rivalry in Tampa, Florida. This year, the SEC’s Florida Gators (#20) – team Bloomin’ Onion – faced off against the Big Ten’s Iowa Hawkeyes (#21) – Team Coconut Shrimp – at Raymond James Stadium. In a decisive victory, the Florida Gators defeated the Hawkeyes 30 – 3 and solidified the Bloomin’ Onion as this year’s free appetizer for Outback customers nationwide.
“At the Outback Bowl, the teams play for more than just pride and the trophy – there’s also a free appetizer at steak,” said Outback Steakhouse President, Gregg Scarlett. “What better way to start 2017 than with a free Bloomin’ Onion?”
This is Outback’s fifth-annual nationwide appetizer giveaway based on the outcome of the Outback Bowl. After SEC’s Tennessee Volunteers took home the trophy last year, Outback Steakhouse restaurants gave away more than 91,000 Bloomin’ Onions to guests around the country, and they’re hoping to top that record this year.
