Nation’s Restaurant News (NRN) announced today that Velvet Taco has been named one of its select “Hot Concepts” winners for 2016.

Now in its 22nd year, Hot Concepts is one of the industry’s most prestigious award programs. Winners, which are selected by NRN’s Editorial Board, are forward-thinking restaurant brands at the leading edge of foodservice and are poised for significant growth.

Criteria for Hot Concept honorees include: opened first restaurant unit less than seven years prior to award recognition; have a minimum of three restaurant units in different market areas or a minimum of five units in one market area; display an entrepreneurial spirit; engender strong consumer appeal; and have a sound financial position as determined by Dun & Bradstreet and other financial benchmarks.
