For the fourth time in seven years, the People Report has awarded the Best People Practices Award to Columbus’ own White Castle. This prestigious award is a special honor for each recipient, as it acknowledges best overall performance among People Report’s association of highly successful restaurant companies across the nation.
“Since 1921, White Castle has remained dedicated to providing the best service to our loyal customers and team members,” said John Kelley, chief people officer and vice president of White Castle. “This award is a result of our hamburger heroes who create memorable moments for our customers. It is their efforts that help the White Castle team improve each year.”
Awardees are evaluated based on outstanding performance in management retention, hourly employee retention, composite diversity, yearly improvement and community involvement. The Best Practices award is presented in concepts from four segments of dining: quick service, fast casual/family dining, casual dining and upscale casual/fine dining.
The People Report Best People Practices Award is designed to recognize and acknowledge companies with consistent and superior results among the more than 100 restaurant chains across the country. White Castle won the Best Practices award in 2006, 2007 and 2009. In 2011 White Castle was a top 12 finalist and in 2012 the family-owned company has once again received top honors.
“At White Castle, we value the personable nature of our work and the opportunities to invest in the community,” said Kelley. “Our business isn’t just about making a profit – it’s about giving our customers and team members an experience they will remember and keep them coming back for more.”
