Sour Cherry Topping Complements New Frozen Yogurt – Available For a Limited Time at All 16 Handles Locations
16 Handles™ (http://www.16handles.com), New York’s premier self-serve frozen yogurt company, announces the debut of its first soft-serve version of Greek yogurt—My Greek Honey—a smooth, creamy Greek-style yogurt with notes of sweet honey.
My Greek Honey, made from fresh, probiotic-dense and protein-packed Greek yogurt, is being showcased as the “Flavor of the Month” at all 16 Handles locations throughout May. The 16 Handles‘ innovation team, led by Head Chef Robynne Maii, suggests pairing ‘My Greek Honey’ with Sour Cherries, a new topping that was selected to complement the limited edition’s smooth and creamy taste that is perfect for spring.
“My Greek Honey offers frozen yogurt lovers a better-for-you snack and dessert option while meeting our guests’ demands for a product that people are passionate about—Greek yogurt,” states Solomon Choi, the company’s founder. “We may not be the first frozen-treats company to go Greek, but we are first to present it along with an exclusive topping that enhances the natural flavor of Greek yogurt.”
One (1/2 cup) serving of My Greek Honey boasts 7 grams of protein, 0 grams of fat, 90 calories and only 11 grams of sugar. Like all 16 Handles yogurt flavors, My Greek Honey is made from the highest quality yogurt with live and active cultures and is kosher-certified.
“My Greek Honey is creamy, satisfying, and texturally richer than our other fro-yo products and another example of our company’s concept-driven philosophy to offer quality, artisanal snack and dessert options that support the health aspirations of our guests with as much flavor as possible,” adds Solomon.
These menu additions coincide with 16 Handles rapid growth into new markets. The company opened its first location in 2008 and a second store in 2009. In 2010, the company opened three more stores and began franchising. The chain grew to 14 locations in 2011 and it added another six stores within the first quarter of 2012. It will open 12 more locations by the end of this summer.
