An award-winning brand, 16 Handles is known for its fun and “chill” lounge-like atmosphere that encourages guests to stay awhile.
“We opened the very first 16 Handles in the East Village in 2008, and the reception from New Yorkers was astounding from the start,” said Solomon Choi, founder and CEO of 16 Handles. “Since then we have evolved into something much larger than just self-serve frozen yogurt. We’ve become a brand that New Yorkers are passionate about; our stores are gathering spots for all types of urbanites—from toddlers to seniors and students to professionals. Expanding across New York has always been our goal, and we’ll continue to look for viable locations across all five boroughs so that we can bring more smiles—and more frozen yogurt possibilities—to more faces.”
Founded in 2008 by foodservice industry expert Solomon Choi, 16 Handles was first to pioneer the self-service frozen yogurt concept in New York City. With 26 locations across New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Maryland, and Florida, 16 Handles urges every guest to Flaunt Their Flavor by offering 16 handles of premium frozen yogurt, along with a complementary toppings bar featuring more than 50 items. The company continues to expand rapidly and forecasts that 40 stores will be open by the end of 2012. An eco-conscious company committed to sustainability, 16 Handles uses biodegradable packaging and spoons, while each store plants 16 trees per day though an ongoing partnership with Trees for the Future.
