OpenTable has announced the 50 winners of its Diners’ Choice Awards for the Top Restaurants for Brunch in the United States. The list of winners is derived from more than seven million reviews submitted by OpenTable diners for more than 12,000 restaurants in all 50 states and the District of Columbia.
In a nod to its reputation as home to the beloved bagel and a schmear, New York City captured 11 spots on the Best Brunch list, earning the greatest number of winners over any other city. California was also a big winner, taking 21 spots in 14 cities including Berkeley, Los Angeles, San Diego, and San Francisco. Other honorees are scattered throughout the continental United States, including Austin, Texas; Arlington, Virginia; Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; Louisville, Kentucky; and Pittsboro, North Carolina.
“The difference between a good brunch and a great brunch lies beyond serving delicious dishes and a terrific Bloody Mary,” said Caroline Potter, OpenTable’s Chief Dining Officer. “It’s about creating the right atmosphere for all kinds of diners, from a bunch of friends catching up over crepes and cocktails to informal daytime family gatherings that are as adult-friendly as they are kid-friendly. And, the Best Brunch Diners’ Choice winners have proven that they have the perfect recipe for a standout brunch.”
Based on feedback collected from OpenTable diners between April 2010 and March 2011, the following 50 restaurants, listed in alphabetical order, received the highest scores from OpenTable diners. For more information about this list, please visit http://www.opentable.com/bestbrunch.
