Less than 700 handcrafted mugs are being made, 24 per restaurant, available for sale on Black Friday.
Collectors take note as President/CEO and Founder Ron Green is readying for a Merry Christmas at 28 locations of Another Broken Egg Café (ABEC) with the help of Deneen Pottery http://deneenpottery.com. Priced at $18 each, this is ABEC’s first limited edition, collectible solid red Christmas mug. There are less than 700 in production for 2013, and a total of only 24 will be available per store, making each one a very exclusive gift.
Each ABEC location has its own distinctive symbol on the American made, hand-thrown stoneware design which is produced in various colors year round. Guests dining at ABEC have experienced these handsome mugs. Customized examples include Indianapolis, with the ABEC logo and race flags for the Indy 500, and Sandestin, Florida which has a beach-inspired sand dollar.
Ron Green was adamant on bucking the typical messaging of “Happy Holidays” instead choosing to incorporate “Merry Christmas” on the cheerful, collectible stoneware piece for 2013. ABEC’s mugs have a distinctive shape which best retains the beverage’s heat. It is also comfortable to hold while lingering over hot chocolate, tea or ABEC’s new Barista Reserve, the micro-roasted, specialty coffee produced in partnership with H. C. Valentine Coffee Company. This artisan coffee, made from the highest quality beans from Central and South America and Ethiopia, can also be purchased by the bag and is freshly ground at each ABEC location. It is a perfect gift idea to accompany the Christmas mug. The Barista Reserve is priced from $11 to $13 pound bag.
“Guests are so intent on collecting a particular color of ABEC mug that they call our home office to locate a mug,” explains Green. “Today we had a woman call us as she drove up and down the Emerald Coast looking for a specific color. She was willing to drive to all six locations in the area to complete her desired collection. It is clear that people are crazy about these quality mugs, and I believe the Merry Christmas red edition will go quickly when they become available on Black Friday.”
