Final Two Limited Edition Pizza Creations in its Series Hit Restaurants October 1

The final two creations in the Aurelio’s limited-edition specialty pizza series are the Chicken Bacon Ranch Pizza and Chicken Fajita Pizza, which hit Aurelio’s chain wide October 1. Following the popular debuts of the Mac N’ Cheese, Cheeseburger, Spicy Italian and Spinach Genoa Pizzas, these two specialty pizzas are the last two in a series of six, which have been appearing two at a time for two-month periods.

The Chicken Bacon Ranch Pizza, created by 35-year Aurelio’s veteran and general manager of three franchise locations Mike Kulikowski, combines mozzarella cheese, chopped chicken, bacon and buttermilk ranch dressing on our Aurelio’s crispy thin crust brushed with olive oil. Kulikowski’s inspiration came after eating a chicken bacon ranch sub at his favorite sub sandwich shop. He wanted to recreate it as a pizza.

“We always like to play around with ingredients to make new and unique pizzas,” said Mike Kulikowski, general manager, Aurelio’s Naperville, Woodridge, and Villa Park, and creator of Aurelio’s Chicken Bacon Ranch Pizza. ”The blending of flavors in this pizza is really great, especially with the cheddar cheese and hot giardiniera.”

The Chicken Fajita Pizza, created by 22-year Aurelio’s veteran Joe Mondello who manages the South Holland location, was inspired by Joe’s favorite Mexican dish, the fajita. He mixes seasoned chicken strips, roasted red and green peppers, onions, and a mixture of mozzarella and cheddar cheese on Aurelio’s crispy thin crust brushed with olive oil.

“Whenever I go out for Mexican food, I always get the fajitas,” said Joe Mondello, manager, Aurelio’s South Holland and creator of the Chicken Fajita Pizza. “They’d have to be my absolute favorite, but I never liked having to put them together. The thing I love about this pizza is that it tastes exactly like a fajita without the hassle because we make it for you on pizza crust.”

“We’re always experimenting in the kitchen with different flavors and we‘re excited we can share these creations with our customers,” said Mondello.

Aurelio’s is family-owned and operated with franchisees that are like family. And, like any family, while everyone remains true to the famous family recipes and secrets, everyone also has their own special flair that builds on the original. To showcase the imaginations of its inventive and passionate employees and franchisees across its 41 stores in six states, Aurelio’s is debuting their creations until end of November with medium-sized, limited time only specialty pizzas.  Bringing new and intriguing pies to its customers, the Mac & Cheese Pizza and the Cheeseburger Pizza were the first and second in the series of six to be introduced and the Spicy Italian and Spinach Genoa Pizzas are the third and fourth in the series. The final two in the series are the Chicken Bacon Ranch and the Chicken Fajita Pizzas.

With a history as rich and entrenched in the community as the pizza it’s famous for, the very first Aurelio’s restaurant opened on Ridge Road in Homewood, IL as the pride and joy of Joseph A. Aurelio, Jr. who decided to give it a go as a restaurateur at the age of 26. With its legendary “old oven” dating back to 1959 in its Homewood location, Aurelio’s was a pioneer in the concept of the Family Pizzeria in the United States and helped to launch pizza into the American lexicon. Since that time, Aurelio’s has become one of Chicagoland’s claims to fame. And, transplanted Chicagoans all over the map have helped to bring their favorite pizzeria franchise to 41 cities across six states, growing a strong fan base for the taste of Aurelio’s.  www.AureliosPizza.com
