Award-Winning Cowboy Chicken Expands into Three New States

Award-Winning Cowboy Chicken Expands into Three New StatesCowboy Chicken, the twenty-one unit fast casual wood fire rotisserie chicken brand, announces their newest franchise partner, FRC Group. The fourteen-store development agreement will expand the concept into three new states: Iowa, Kansas, and South Dakota.

FRC Group, an affiliate of Sun Capital Partners, is operated by its Co-Presidents Brendan Crowley and Luke Wilson. FRCG has twenty-five years of experience as multi-unit franchise operators in both casual and fast-causal concepts. Crowley and Wilson, currently operate twenty-one HuHot Mongolian Grills and discovered Cowboy Chicken while looking for an additional concept to add to their portfolio. The partners were looking for a unique product they could stand behind with a clear vision. Starting with a list of hundreds of concepts, they began to cull through a long list of prospects. Crowley stated “Cowboy Chicken was just a name on a list, but it caught my attention. I immediately went to the computer and started researching. I loved what I saw on the website, and was intrigued by the home-style, wholesome food with a single protein concentration. Upon seeing they originated in Dallas, I went to my phone and sent out a text to all my DFW friends, ‘Have you heard of Cowboy Chicken?’. I got immediate responses from everyone! It was a unanimous, ‘Yes! We love it!’.” This launched the journey that would lead FRCG to purchase territories in three states.

Cowboy Chicken has experienced significant growth over the last several years, and with the recent introduction of a new restaurant prototype and branding, the company has development agreements in place that will result in 110 new restaurants across the United States. Cowboy Chicken’s unit count is currently twenty-four restaurants in six states, which includes three new restaurants under development in Atlanta, GA and Oklahoma City, OK.
